We were one of the first providers of chiropractic education outside the United Sates. Founded in 1965 we have built a formidable reputation for innovative teaching, clinical excellence and pushing the frontiers of knowledge through research. Our faculty boasts some of the best teachers in their field. Our students are committed and very positive about the education and experience they are receiving. Our staff and students come from all over the world and our very name, Anglo-European College of Chiropractic, emphasises our multinational perspective.
Since September 2005, our courses have been validated by Bournemouth University. By working in partnership with our local University, we enhance and enrich both our teaching and research activities, whilst maintaining the close collegiate atmosphere of a small specialist institution.
The AECC campus stands on a woodland estate a few minutes from the golden sands of the award winning, seven mile long Bournemouth beach and boasts stunning architecture. The grand historical buildings have been a seat of education for over a hundred and twenty years and provide a pleasant contrast to the new state-of-the-art teaching clinic which opened in 2009.
The hi-tech clinic - one of the largest in Europe - comprises 34 chiropractic treatment rooms, a sophisticated booking system, digital x-ray, fluoroscopy, diagnostic ultrasound and a functional rehabilitation centre. Students spend their final two years of study as interns within the clinic under the supervision of chiropractic tutors. This provides a valuable service to the local community, as well as the hands-on experience of treating real patients.
The BSc-MSc Chiropractic course offered at the AECC is a full-time programme that runs over a 5-year period. Innovative, integrated and strongly vocational, the course is designed to train and prepare graduate chiropractors for professional practice as primary healthcare providers in modern society. The programme leads to an award of Master of Science in Chiropractic, which is an internationally recognised qualification. A career in chiropractic is financially rewarding, although the greatest satisfaction is based on helping people overcome healthcare issues. In recent years almost 100% of all AECC graduates have gone on to find employment as a chiropractor and many have set up their own private clinics.
