The University has its main university campus in Lourdes de Montes de Oca, San José, Costa Rica, a place characterized by being in the country’s university sector of excellence, in an environment which harbours many universities, four of which are state, four of which are state.

The Latin University of Costa Rica has undergone enormous development and has come to be constituted as the largest private university in the country based upon the size of its student population.

INTRODUCING OUR MEDICAL PROGRAM FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

The School of Medicine was founded in October 1998 with the main aim of training
general practitioners with essential skills in primary care.

We have introduced a fantastic International program which is designed for students from all over the world to come to the beautiful country of Costa Rica to learn Medicine and Dentistry.

The Medicine and Surgery Faculty has made a multi-million dollar investment in its facilities which include seven laboratories and a 450-seat auditorium in the Health Sciences Building. This auditorium includes simultaneous translation facilities, internet connection at each seat as well as video and teleconferencing access.

What makes our program so successful is that it is taught in English, as well as the fact
that our medical graduates - who can sit the USMLE or PLAB – can leave the University
without a huge debt. We are also a recognised school and our students are eligible for loans.
