What
we do
The CSP is concerned with protecting members'
interests and helping them to achieve the best
possible patient care. Our members use techniques
to help muscles and joints work to their full
potential. Treatments include exercise programmes
to improve mobility and strengthen muscles; and
manipulation, mobilisation and massage to reduce
pain and stiffness. Physios also have an important
role to play in rehabilitation, such as helping
people who have had strokes to relearn basic movements.
But physiotherapists don't just offer treatment;
their advice can help prevent problems returning
or even recurring in the first place. With the
government promising to increase the number of
physiotherapists and invest heavily in services
where physios can play a lead role, it's an exciting
time to become a part of this forward moving profession.
